In a series of offering customer friendly scheme for the benefits of revered customers of various security agencies and to serve the nation, BSNL had launched DSPT unlimited internet access facility @ 64Kbps to various security agencies @ Rs 7,099/- (applicable service tax) under DSPT plan ‘DSPT UL 7099’
BSNL has received several requests from various security agencies to reduce the rate of unlimited internet access facility @ 64Kbps through DSPT from prevailing Rs 9,999/- per month with applicable service tax to an affordable price stating that DSPT services are the only mode of communication to the troop deployed in border areas, different terrain areas and remotest places etc on PAN INDIA basis.
BSNL has considered their requests and reduced the rate from Rs 9,999/- per month (service tax extra) to Rs 7,099/- per month (service tax extra) in respect of unlimited internet facility through DSPT services.
BSNL is the only Telecom Operator which is providing unlimited internet facility through DSPT at such cheaper rate to the nation serving security agencies.

BSNL, one of the leading and incumbent Telecom Operator of India has plan to upgrade its more than 32000 TDM based telecom exchanges with IP Next Generation telecom exchanges.
More than 15 lakhs capacity is already got converted into Next Generation Network (NGN). NGN Based Telephone Exchanges Provide both voice as well as broadband facility to the consumers. In addition to voice & data, several value added services which were not available in TDM technology are being offered to NGN customers. Value added services like “All India close user group” (wings CUG), fixed Mobile Conversion, (Wings follow me) Multimedia video conferencing, (wing conferencing) and Prepaid telephone. These facilities are made available across India to customers who are migrated on NGN technology. To promote these value added services BSNL is not charging additional for prepaid services and discounted tariff are also made available for other VAS services. Tariff chart of these value added services is enclosed for reference.

State owned Telecom Giant Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has launched mobile TV service 'Ditto TV' &‘Limited Fixed Mobile Telephony’ for its subscribers today from BSNL Corporate office. It's a digital revolution, that's changing the way the world watches TV & use fixed telephony.
While launching services CMD BSNL Shri Anupam Shrivastava said “BSNL is in service of India since its inception. We always try to bring latest technology to BSNL customers at reasonable price point. Ditto TV and Limited FMT are small steps in this direction for more than 100 million BSNL customers.”
Ditto TV is a unique mobile TV service wherein subscriber can view live TV for 80+ channels (including HD channels). The service has Multi screen option as it can be viewed on both iOS and Android devices i.e. Mobile, Tablet, TV or on PC. The service has 7 days catch-up facility where user can watch last 7days Zee TV contents. The service also comes with various additional features i.e. single sign-in across multiple devices, persistent play back, interactive search, electronic program guide, easy channel switching for Live TV, intuitive user interface consistent across all devices, social login. BSNL mobile user need to just download Ditto TV app from the play store, install it on mobile, register and then start using the service. This service is available on subscription basis at very economical price (@Rs.20/- per month) and is also bundled with Data STV for recharge of Rs.223/-.
Limited Fixed Mobile Telephone is facility of fixed telephone number with O/G and I/C calls on smart mobile devices such as smart phones with Wi-Fi facility. The smart phone need to download App and with connectivity with BSNL broadband modem (say on Wi-Fi) the customer can receive and also able to make outgoing calls using Limited Fixed Mobile Telephony App available on smart phone handsets. This service is in no way linked with mobile operator service / customer SIM in mobile handset. This service can be availed as add on service for existing BSNL customer having BSNL broadband / Combo or new customer opting for BSNL broadband Combo. Separate telephone number will be provided to customer to avail this service.
This service will give advantage of smart phones like using contacts, logs and better voice quality where mobile signals are poor. In order to restrict usage with in customer premises (office or residence) , the BSNL broadband will have to be provided and use with will restricted to access through BSNL broadband of customer at Residence / office only. Limited FMT Call charges will be as applicable for basic service.
Dir (CFA) Shri N.K.Gupta & Dir (CM) Shri R.K.Mittal also greeted BSNL employee & customers on this occasion. The function was also attended by Dir(EB) Shri N.K. Mehta, Representatives of unions, associations and entire staff of BSNL Corporate office.

Hon’ble MOS for Communication (I/C) and MOS for Railways, Shri Manoj Sinha announced 0.75% incentive / discount on Online/Electronic payment. BSNL, in line with the govt.’s vision of making India cashless, requests its esteemed customers to join BSNL in our walk towards a cashless society. Our esteemed customers can now avail a discount / incentive of 0.75% on the invoiced amount (excluding Service Tax) while making online/Electronic payment before pay by date w.e.f. 22nd December 2016 till 31st March 2017 for post-paid bills i.e. (landline, Broadband, GSM) and GSM Pre-paid Recharges.
Customers are requested to pay using portal.bsnl.in and MY BSNL APP to avail discount. For post-paid customers (Landline, Broadband and GSM) the discount will be reflected in your next bill.

In a series of offering customer friendly schemes for the benefits of customers and to attract new customers to experience wireline Broadband services, BSNL is going to launch a very cost effective & affordable promotional unlimited Broadband plan ‘Experience Unlimited BB 249’ from 9th September 2016.
Under this plan, customers can download unlimited Broadband data without bothering of any data limit in GB. BSNL shall offer 2 Mbps speed under this plan.
If customer uses the above plan continuously in a month, he can download upto 300 GB data by paying only Rs. 249/-. Hence, per GB of data download cost comes out as less than Rs. 1/- per GB. After six months, customer will be migrated to one of the regular BB plan based on the choice of the customer.
BSNL’s Chairman cum Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava told that BSNL is the only operator who is offering lowest per GB data download cost plan under Broadband services in the country.
He further told that the above plan shall enhance the customer experience towards BSNL’s wireline Broadband services and shall attract new customers to experience BSNL Broadband services.
New Broadband connection can be subscribed by visiting nearest BSNL customer service centre or by calling Toll Free number- 1800 345 1500. More details in this regard can be obtained by visiting BSNL website www.bsnl.co.in.

A MOU has been signed between DOT and BSNL for the financial year 2016-17 on 02.09.2016 in Sanchar Bhawan, New Delhi. From DOT side Sri J.S. Deepak Secretary (DOT) has signed and from BSNL side Shri Anupam Shrivastava CMD BSNL has signed. During MOU signing ceremony Shri N.Sivasailam, Additional Secretary, and Govt. Director in BSNL Board and Shri N.K. Gupta Director (CFA) BSNL, Shri R.K. Mittal Director (CM) BSNL and senior officers from DOT and BSNL were present on the occasion.
BSNL sign MOU with DOT every year wherein certain parameter performance based targets are assigned to BSNL by DOT and DPE. On the basis of annual achievement vis-a vis targets of MOU, DPE evaluates company’s performance and accordingly awards rating to BSNL.

On this Independence Day on 15 Aug 2016 ,State owned telecom operator BSNL is adding more facility to its customers free call on 15 Aug 2016 and every Sunday from its landline phone in addition to existing Free night calling scheme. In this offer BSNL landline customers can call to any mobile or landline free of any charges.
Moreover there will be free calling facility on every Sunday for landline customers.
The announcement was made today by SH. Manoj Sinha, Hon'ble Minister of state ,communication (I/C) in a function held at Varanasi.
Sh. Anupam Shrivastava,CMD,BSNL said ," BSNL is committed to provide best and reliable service to its customer. This offer is one of our extension of hand for our valued customers on this Independence day. This facility is in addition of existing Free night calling scheme by BSNL.'

An MOU between Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Essel Group signed on 03.08.2016 with areas of mutual interest between two companies at BSNL Corporate office, New Delhi.
Broadly the following areas of interest have been identified by two companies.
1. Acquiring and creating new broadband customers using BSNL through VNO route.
2. Video on demand. Essel Group is enrich in content. Would like to deliver these contents to broadband and mobile user of BSNL. In addition to this they would like to use BSNL broadband network to deliver their DTH customer base video on demand service.
3. Essel Group would like to partner with BSNL in new emerging area of smart city where Government of India has declared a plan throughout 100 cities across the country.
4. On this occasion, Essel Group was represented by Mr. Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Essel and Zee TV Group, Shri Atul Jhamb, President, Citi Cable and broadband group, Mr. Anil Jhamb, CTO, Essel Group etc. From BSNL side, the team was lead by Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD, BSNL, All Board of Directors, CGM NCNGN and other Senior officers of BSNL Corporate Office.

A meeting between BSNL and team of delegation from Bangladesh led by Hon’ble Minister of Posts & Telecommunications, Ms. Tarana Halim was held. Mr. Md. Monwar Hossain, Managing Director, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited, Bangladesh was also present in the meeting.
On this occasion, Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL and BSNL Board Directors welcomed the delegation from Bangladesh. CMD BSNL said “Bangladesh is best neighbor and best friend, with so many similarities between two countries it will only help in building a formidable partnership”.
It was appreciated that the recently commissioned 10 G Internet Link from Agartala to Cox Bazaar in Bangladesh is being utilized very effectively to improve the internet connectivity of North East Region of India.
The payment for 1st quarter since the commissioning of link i.e. 08-02-2016 was handed over by CMD BSNL to H.E. Ms. Tarana Halim in the meeting.
Minister for Posts & Telecommunications, Bangladesh Ms. Tarana Halim said in her speech that Bangladesh is always grateful for contribution / support getting from India since their freedom. She said that she has a vision for the Mobile phone for each women of Bangladesh to empower them. She also made the point that her purpose of visit was to enhance the co-operation for Telecommunications with India specially with BSNL.
Meeting was concluded in very conducive atmosphere to enhance the co-operation between both countries.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is the top PSU telecom company and one of the leading telecom service provider in telecom industry of India. BSNL is providing almost all types of telecom services like fixed telephony, broadband ,2G mobile services, 3Gmobile services, wifi, Wi max, broadband services, CDMA voice and data services, Leased time services, V SAT services ,managed services, etc, etc…BSNL has recently started deployment of public wifi hotspots across the country covering all religious, tourist and important locations in the country. BSNL is serving the customer right from Kashmir to kanyakumari and from Gujrat to North East covering entire geography of the country except metro cities of Delhi and Mumbai.
BSNL has taken several initiatives in the past year. BSNL has introduce free night calling from BSNL fixed line to any other service provider between 9PM to 7AM. BSNL has introduced free incoming calls while roaming for BSNL mobile customers which is perhaps a first step taken by any telecom operator. BSNL has upgraded minimum speed of broadband from 512 kbps to 2mbps so that broadband customers of BSNL should have better surfing experience.
BSNL is in the process of upgrading and expanding both mobile as well as fixed telephone network. As part of this initiative BSNL is converting the existing PSTN telephone exchanges with NGN( Next Generation Network).As part of this program ,already approximately 660 telephone exchanges are upgraded to NGN.
Today Hon’ble minister of communication & IT Shri Ravi Shanker Prasadji has introduced NGN techonology designed and manufactured locally by telecom PSU called CDOT( Centre for Development of Telematics) This is a special efforts by government of india to promote Make in india program of Hon’ble prime minister of India sh Narendra Modiji. This techonology from CDOT will help BSNL to deploy NGN technology in urban and rural part of the country.
Hon’ble Minister of communication and IT also inaugurated several Value Added Services(VAS) on NGN , namely all india IP Centrex, multimedia voice conferencing , fixed mobile convergence and prepaid version of fixed telephone. Hon’ble minister also started a new innovative services called Fixed Mobile Telephony(FMT) which helps customers to carry his/her fixed telephone in his/her pocket while moving around the world and able to receive and initiate outgoing calls from mobile telephone instrument.
BSNL has reached milestone of 1000 WIFI hotspots in the country today. Hon’ble minister has dedicated 1000th WIFI hotspot installed at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine to the nation from Delhi.
BSNL is on the way of modernizing and upgrading its mobile network under phase VII+. Hon’ble minister has also announced BSNL has planned to add additional appx. 21000BTS with a total investment of more then Rs2000 cr . These new BTS also include more then 13000 3G BTS.
On this occasion Secretary Telecom Sh JS Deepak praised the effort and initiatives taken by BSNL and expect BSNL to lead telecom industry from the front. Sh Anupam Srivastava CMD BSNL, Sh. Vipin Tyagi ED CDOT, board of directors of BSNL and other senior officers graced the occasion with their presence.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a government of India PSU incumbent Telecom Operator of India has entered into an agreement through MOU with Tata Sky, the leading DTH operator of India. Under this MOU, BSNL and Tata Sky will enter a strategic alliance and seek broadband customers for BSNL who will be utilising Video On-demand services offered by Tata Sky. Through this understanding, BSNL is expected to get additional Broadband customers and Tata Sky will provide its subscribers the option of video on-demand.
As an initial incentive to customers, BSNL is offering free first month broadband rental. Similarly M/S Tata Sky will also be offering Video On-demand Services free for the first month to download content worth up to Rs 500/-
BSNL and Tata Sky will implement this MOU starting with one or two States and would like to cover the entire nation within next six months.

Head of Circles Conference (HOCC) was held in BSNL on 10-11th Feb. 2016 at BSNL Corporate office , New Delhi. The objective of the conference was to brainstorm on vital issues concerning BSNL’s performance, its financial health and to give shape and direction to the company’s future initiatives.
In the conference, detailed discussions and deliberations took place with all the Head of Territorial and Non-Territorial circles to find out the possible implementable /executable ways so as to increase profitability of the company while fulfilling the obligations entrusted to BSNL by the Government of India.
Sh.J.S. Deepak, Secretary (Telecom) and Chairman of Telecom Commission and Sh .N.Shrisailan , Addl. Secretary(Telecom) , DoT also attended the conference.
Secretary(Telecom) said that Government is committed to support BSNL primarily due to three reasons- Its size , the sector it operates in and the Critical role it had played and continue to play in the Infrastructure Telecom and Information Technology Sector in India. While addressing the conference, he laid thrust on timely completion of vital projects like NFS and NOFN given to BSNL by Govt. of India. These are important from the view point of development of telecom infrastructure of this country. He expressed his faith in the expertise of the Senior Telecom Officers in the field of project management and execution.
He also made a point to improve various quality of Service (QoS) parameters particularly “ Call Drop” . There is a need of hour for BSNL for renting out cloud infrastructure and for laying emphasis on business development in addition to focusing on satisfactory provisioning and effective maintenance of telecom services to our customers.
On the 2nd day of the conference, Addl Secretary(Telecom) reviewed the progress of NOFN project state by state.
He mentioned that though the other project, LWE aiming at provisioning of GSM coverage in naxal affected areas in 10 states is progressing at a very good speed, progress in NOFN project is to be give boost. He also said that the progress of this project is also closely being reviewed/monitored at the highest level. He also said that in case if there is any issue still unresolved, it should be escalated immediately at appropriate level.
He enjoined all the Heads of the Circles to gear up to complete the assigned tasks strictly in a time bound manner.
Round Table Conference was another important event which was organized on the second day of the conference in which discussions and deliberations took place on different themes like how to improve operational efficiency in CFA & CM verticals, steps required to turnaround(+profit)in BSNL, improve sales and marketing efforts to bring youth to BSNL, convert CFA business as progressive and with positive growth and convert BSNL into a preferred telecom operator in EB market among the members of the five groups formed for the purpose. They suggested various recommendations theme by theme.
Shri Anupam Shrivastava ,CMD, BSNL finally appreciated all the Heads of Circles for putting hard work maximum to their capacity to get the result for the organization. He expressed his faith that we all work together, we can turn around BSNL. We can bring back BSNL to the path of glory and profitability which it had seen in the past.
With these words, HOCC was concluded on 11th Feb.2016.

New Delhi: 30, December 2015: All employees of state owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited pledge today to serve the customer with new motto i.e. “Service with a Smile” (SWAS). Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL administered the oath to the employees at BSNL Corporate Office, New Delhi. Similar pledge ceremony took place at all BSNL Telecom Circle across India.
The employees pledges to do their best to resolve any service related issues of BSNL Customer as soon as possible in best possible manner, as it is our most important job. And we will do it with a smile.
Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL, said on this occasion, “The theme ‘Service with a Smile’ was missing till now in BSNL. Often people talk about network, equipment, OFC cable and other infrastructure but the quality of service we offer is what that matters a lot. New Delhi: 02, December 2015: In order to extend a helping hand to the stranded people of Chennai due to unforeseen floods and also to facilitate relief operations during this natural calamity, following free calls, SMS and Data packages is being provided to Chennai TD BSNL customers: Chennai and several coastal areas of the state marooned in flood waters following incessant heavyrains that pounded the city and the neighbouring districts cutting the state capital from rail and road links even as the airport was shutdown for the day. In order to extend a helping hand to the stranded people of Chennai due to unforeseen floods and also to facilitate relief operations during this natural calamity, following free calls, SMS and Data packages is being provided to Chennai TD BSNL customers:

A. For Prepaid Mobile Customers

  • Voice calls FREE ONNET – Local and STD w.e.f from 21-00 hrs of 02-12-2015 for 7 days.
  • SMS FREE ONNET – Local and STD w.e.f from 21-00 hrs of 02-12-2015 for 7 days.
  • Data Package FREE 100Mb w.e.f from morning of 03-12-2015 for 7 days.

B. For Postpaid Mobile Customers

  • A rental rebate of 07 days and extension of billing cycle by 15 days.

C. For Landline and Broadband customers

  • Voice calls FREE ONNET & OFFNET – Local and STD w.e.f from 0900 hrs of 02-12-2015 for 7 days.
  • Data Package FREE 100Mb w.e.f from morning of 03-12-2015 for 7 days.

As you are already aware, BSNL is making relentless efforts to Revive itself under the able leadership of our Honourable MOC Shri Ravi Shanker Prasad. MOC is very keen to ensure BSNL turn around and to restore the pristine glory of this valuable company. MOC has suggested several innovative initiatives and under his guidance BSNL is implementing them. MOC himself has organized state wise meetings with honorable MPs to seek their support and suggestions for BSNLs growth in respective states. MOC’s resolve to support BSNL has generated a new wave of energy and confidence in BSNL. Customers have also started coming back to the BSNL fold. Inspired by the vision of MOC, BSNL has taken following bold and innovative steps to improve the revenue and customer base substantially.
1. Customer centric initiatives:
 Night calling has been made free for Land Line and CDMA customers from 9:00 PM to 7 AM.
 All BSNL Broadband customers have been upgraded to 2 Mbps at no extra cost w.e.f. 1.10.2015.
 All India roaming to all BSNL customers on incoming calls has been made free.
 Roll out of Wi-Fi hot spots at all important tourists and public places. (450 hot spots are already in place).
 BSNL is in the process of migration from old legacy TDM switches to IP based NGN technology. It will provide fix mobile convergence and customers will get many value added services.
 Under Phase VII project BSNL in investing about `5500 Crores for improving its mobile network.
2. Implementation of important Govt. Projects:
 Bharat Net – BSNL is laying OFC cable for 70,000 GPs out of which 26000GPs have already been covered.
 NFS Projects- BSNL is laying 54000 KMs of OFC for defense network. 10,000 Km of OFC has already been laid.
 LWE project- BSNL is installing 1836 BTss in Left Wing Extremism affected areas. 655 BTSs have already been installed.
 BSNL is laying 3218 Kms OFC cable in North East region to ensure comprehensive telecom transmission network development in the area.
3. Other strategic steps:
 BSNL is enhancing its mobile network data capacity to enhance the coverage and quality of service. Per day throughput has already crossed 250 TB in BSNL’s mobile network alone.
 MPLS network is expanded from 106 cities to 205 cities.
 Super Highway Transport Network with 100 Gps line capacity is planned to improve data connectivity to all state capitals and major cities.
 OFC work is in progress to provide additional 10 Gbps data capacity to North East region.
 BSNL has decided to form a separate infrastructure company for tower business with 64500 towers and an expected Rs.2200 crores revenue in next 2-4 years.
 BSNL is planning to monetize its land assets. It may generate Rs.2500 crore revenue for BSNL.
 BSNL has opened 500 exclusive call centers for GSM, Wire line and broadband Services.
4. Impact of above initiatives:
 Tremendous growth in Gross mobile connections per month. (From 9 lacs in May 2015 to 16 lacs in July, 2015)
 BSNL has gone MNP positive since July 2015 for the first time. (Port in 1,57,564 customers and Port out 1,24,158 customers.)
 Reduction in losses to the company since 2013-14.
 Arrest of landline disconnections.
5. Financials: BSNL income from services has increased by 4.16 % in 2014-15 in comparison to previous year. This stands at Rupees 27,242 Crores, which is highest in comparison to previous five years. Besides after suffering operating losses in the year 2013-14, BSNL has earned operating profits again in financial year 2014-15. BSNL’s employees and administrative expenses have also shown a declining trend in financial year 2014-15. BSNL had bad financial results for last few years, but in year 2014-15 BSNL has been able to reverse the trend. Also it is a known fact that most of the telecom majors are having heavy debt burdens but BSNL still continues to be relatively better, showing a low debt equity ratio.

Committed to the Government’s Digital initiatives announced by Hon.ble PM, BSNL has decided to upgrade Broadband speed to minimum 2 Mbps at no additional cost for all the Broadband customers on PAN-India Basis from 1st October 2015. This is another major service offering from BSNL for the benefits of customers in continuation to offering free night calling from BSNL landline to all operator network from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM and free incoming roaming services for its mobile customers. BSNL is also offering 1Gb free E-Mail box to their customers from 50 Mb mail box.
Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad Hon’ble MOC & IT , GOI announced this today here at Gurgaon in a function organized by BSNL. The function was graced by Shri Rao Inderjeet Singh Hon’ble MOS for Planning & MOS for Defence(Independent charge) GOI. Shri Anupam Srivastav CMD BSNL, Shri N K Gupta Director (CFA), Smt Sujata Ray Director (HR) BSNL Board and Shri R C Arya CGM Haryana circle were also present on the occasion.
The speed up-gradation will benefit all the existing and new Broadband customers of BSNL. Under this scheme, BSNL is upgrading the speed of existing Broadband plans of 512 Kbps & 1 Mbps to 2 Mbps speed with Fair usage Policy(FUP). With this upgradation, BSNL customers can access / surf the internet including social network websites like Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc. at high speed.
BSNL is the first service provider to provide the Broadband Access to the country. BSNL launched the Broadband services over its landline in India in 2005 with speed of 256kbps and above over the state of art Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) based IP infrastructure in urban as well as Rural areas.
BSNL since then is constantly working for increasing the broadband speed for the enhanced experience of customer in urban as well as rural areas as envisaged in New Telecom Policy 2012.. Now, BSNL offers broadband services with various plans ranging from 2 mbps to 100 mbps speed using ADSL/VDSL and fiber based GPON technology in a very affordable price range. BSNL is currently having around 10 Mn Broadband customers including about 1.1 Mn. Rural customers.

BSNL is in process of setting up Wi-Fi Hotspots on PAN India basis (Except Delhi & Mumbai). During the digital India Week celebration, BSNL organized the photo and video competition at Wi-Fi Hotspots on 04.07.2015 to promote Wi-Fi services among customers. In this competition, participants were to send photos and video of Wi-Fi Hotspot locations, using Wi-FI Hotspots at that location. This competition got a good response and BSNL received more than 450 photos and 26 videos in the competition organized in Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Kerala, Karnataka, Orissa, Tamilnadu, UP (East) and UP (West) Telecom circles. BSNL awarded National winner for photo Mr. Nand Kishore at Agra and National winner for video Mr. Satish Singh at Varanasi on 23.07.2015. In addition, circle level 1st, 2nd and 3rd award winners were also awarded by circles in both categories.
BSNL organized award ceremony on 23.07.2015 at Sanchar Bhawan New Delhi to award the National winners of photo and Video competition organized by BSNL at Wi-Fi Hotspots on 04.07.2015. Secretary (T), Member (Finance), USOF (Administrator), CMD BSNL, Dir (CM) BSNL, Dir (HR) BSNL and other senior officers of DoT and BSNL were present at this occasion. CGMT UP (East) BSNL and CGMT UP (West) BSNL were also present at Varanasi and Agra respectively.
Secretary (T), Mr. Rakesh Garg, congratulated both the winners through video call from Sanchar Bhawan New Delhi. On this occasion, secretary (T) mentioned about the desire of PMO to spread Wi-Fi at all important tourist /commercial locations and applauded BSNL for providing Wi-Fi services at Varanasi Ghats, Taj Mahal-Agra, Hussain Sagar Lake & Charminar -Hyderabad, Sarnath-Varanasi, Sun Temple-Konark, Brihadeshwar Temple-Thanjavur, Hampi- Karnataka, Khajuraho-M.P., Jagnnath Temple-Puri, Nasik-Maharashtra any many more other locations. CMD BSNL, Mr. Anupam Shrivastava mentioned that BSNL has already installed more than 250 Wi-Fi Hotspots at various locations and BSNL has plans to provide around 2500 Wi-Fi hotspots by the end of this financial year.

Govt. of Odisha graced the occasion as distinguished Guests of Honour. Shri Pinaki Mishra, Hon’ble MP and Shri Maheswar Mohanty Hon’ble MLA were also present as Guests of Honour. Shri Anupam Srivastava CMD BSNL presided over the function. Shri N.K.Gupta, Director BSNL, Shri Bijoyananda Mishra, CGMT Odisha, Shri C.S.Rao of Quadegen, and other Senior Officers of BSNL were also present to grace the occasion.
The facility has been created by BSNL with the optical fiber backbone using GPON technology which can provide backhaul broadband bandwidth upto 100 Mbps through BSNL’s state of art MPLS network. BSNL would be providing free Wi-Fi services, for 30 minutes per 24 hours (three times in a month which visitors can utilize in multiple sessions. After free usage limit of 30 minutes is exhausted, a customer can continue using the service on paid basis for which subscription plans are available in the denomination of Rs.30/-, Rs.50/- , Rs.90/- and Rs.150/- for validity of 30 minutes, 60 minutes , 120 minutes and one day respectively.
BSNL has already extended similar Wi-Fi facility in the world famous Sun Temple, Konark, in Odisha.
Honorable Minister Communications &IT also inaugurated the new BSNL BHAVAN at Bhubaneswar which has been constructed at a project cost of approx. Rs.17 crores. The office of CGMT Odisha Circle shall function from this building.
Hon’ble Minister further added that BSNL is replacing 30 years old switching technology with the latest Next Generation Network (NGN) technology. In the initial phase already 12500 lines have been replaced and during 2015-16, 12750 lines have been planned to be installed.
During the last financial year, 496 no.of 2G BTS and 337 nos. of 3G BTS were commissioned. In the current financial year 372 nos. of 2G BTS and 193 nos. of 3G BTS have been planned to be commissioned.
In the LWE project 253 nos. of 2G BTS have been planned to be commissioned in the left wing extremist area of Odisha. The work is in full swing and is likely to be completed during this financial year.
The National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) project is going on full swing. During this financial year 3369 nos. of GPs in 167 Blocks have been planned to be covered with broadband with project out lay of Rs.400 crores.This shall cover fifteen revenue districts namely Boudha, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Gajpati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghghpur,Kalahandi,Kandhamal,Kendrapara, Kendujhar, Khurda, Mayurbhanja, Nayagarh, Puri.
During the current financial year a project outlay of Rs.830 has been earmarked for BSNL Odisha for various projects including the Rs400 crores earmarked for NOFN.

He informed that the decision was taken on 1st November, 2014 and now from today all telecom operators have made their network conforming to All India MNP. He said that Modi Government always follow people oriented programmes and MNP is one of them.
As mobile has become the central focus for all kinds of services which people access and utilize, All India Mobile Number Mobility will be an effective tool for such services. He also asked BSNL to take lead in this process by improving its mobile services further.
Hon’ble Minister inaugurated 2 most ambitious services of BSNL Called BSNL BUZZ and SpeedPay.
BSNL BUZZ
With BSNL BUZZ BSNL will provide a variety of interactive and easy to use services such as content, news, contests, subscription packs, coupons and advertising. The service will also deliver location-based information services in 7 Indian languages – Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, Malyalam, Kannada and Telegu. The service will allow BSNL mobile to reach its consumers in a cost-effective, non-intrusive and friendly manner. The BSNL BUZZ App will be embedded in every BSNL Mobile SIM card within the network enabling interactive cell broadcast.
BSNL BUZZ has two distinct services enabled by Cell Broadcast – cell information and a LiveScreen based easy to use mobile marketing service. The Cell information service provides a non-interactive messaging service to millions of BSNL users communicating BSNL services offerings, social awareness messaging and citizen alerts.
SpeedPay
SPEEDPAY is an open prepaid instrument which can be used as a means for purchase of goods and services at any card accepting merchant location (point of sale terminals) and allow cash withdrawal at ATMs / customer service points. Person to person wallet at the nearest BSNL retailer spread across India.
A major part of the population has a mobile phone, but no bank account – thus, making the case for using mobile phones for delivery of financial services. The existing models of making available Banking Services to whole population by opening new bank branches or appointing new Business Correspondents entails massive investment and time. The service aims to create self-sustainable ecosystem in rural areas so that to expand the banking services to the remotest part of the country.
Minister also informed that both the services are part of Digital India programme which aim to give good governance and thereby empowering the people of India digitally.With Speed Pay a poor man can transfer money to his mother in a village with a click of a button. These are good revolutions which will help the country to grow.
BSNL BUZZ was provided by BSNL in partnership with M/s. Celltick and the SpeedPay was provided was provided in partnership with partnership with M/s. Pyro and Andhra Bank. Speaking on the event, Shri Rakesh Garg, Secretary (Telecom) was happy to know that now BSNL is on the path of growth. IN the last one year they have undertaken various programmes like replacing 30 years old exchanges with NGN exchanges, installing high speed wi-fi hotspots across the country, announcing people oriented schemes like free night calling from fixed lines from 10.00 pm to 7.00 a. and announcing gfree roaming to BSNL mobile customers. He also appreciated BSNL efforts in the time of calamities and gave example of BNSL initiatives at the time of Kashmir calamity, Andhra Pradesh calamity and Nepal calamity. He was happy that these two services are people centric and more and more people should take advantage of these initiatives of BSNL.
Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD, BSNL while announcing the services informed that this will give boost to cashless transactions taking place and also Speed Pay a safe and easy option to customers. He also announced that more such services are expected to be given to the consumers of the country shortly.

The rating signifies that instruments with this rating are considered to have the highest degree of safety regarding timely servicing of financial obligations. Such instruments carry lowest credit risk. With a view to comply with the condition of PSU Banks, the Company got its Long Term Loan rated by M/s CARE Ratings.

The facility has been created by BSNL with the optical fibre backbone using GPON technology which can provide backhaul broadband bandwidth upto 100 Mbps through BSNL’s state of art MPLS network. BSNL would be providing free Wi-Fi services, for 30 minutes per 24 hrs (three time in a month) which visitors can utilize in multiple sessions. After free usage limit of 30 minutes is exhausted, a customer can continue using the service on paid basis for which subscription plans are available in the denomination of Rs. 20/-, Rs. 30/-, Rs. 50/- and Rs. 70/- for validity of 30 min, 60 min, 120 min and one day respectively.
BSNL has also planned to expand the coverage of the wi-fi facility to other tourist & religious locations like Khajuraho, Jagannath puri etc by March 2016.
Minister of Communications & IT Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad informed that BSNL has plans to invest more than 1200 crores in UP(W) Circle during 2015-16. Out of this approx. Rs. 200 crores will be invested in upgrading and expanding mobile network. A total of 795 number of new 2G BTSs sites are being commissioned in all Secondary Switching Areas (SSAs) of UP(W) Circle to increase the coverage of BSNL mobile services. BSNL is expanding its 3G network in all SSAs by installing a total of 596 new 3G BTSs. This expansion will help in providing improved 3G services to existing BSNL subscribers as well as in 152 new cities/towns. Approx Rs. 982 crores will be invested in National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) under Phase-I covering 14,474 village panchayats spread over 227 blocks covering more than 30,000 villages of UP(W) Circle.
Hon. Minister further added that BSNL is replacing 30 years old switching technology with latest Next Generation Network (NGN) technology. In initial phase more than 50,000 such telephone lines are allotted to UP(W) Circle covering Meerut, Ghaziabad and Noida areas.

BSNL is all set to launch free incomming calls to its mobile customer while in roaming all across the country w.e.f. 15.06.2015. The announcement to this effect was made by the Minister of Communications & IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad in a press conference on 02.06.2015.
Giving details of the implementation of the scheme CMD BSNL Shri Anupam Shrivastava said “we are all set to launch this scheme from 15.06.2015 on PAN India basis. It will benefit crores of our existing as well as new subscribers. Now BSNL mobile customers will not need to carry multiple SIMs and handsets during roaming. They are now free to talk as long as they want without worrying of any charges during incoming calls. In fact it is like a dream of ‘ONE NATION ONE NUMBER” come true.”
When asked about the news appeared in one of the newspapers about the objection of Telecom Regulator (TRAI) for launch of the service, he said “We have not received any such communication from TRAI. BSNL has announced this scheme with the consent of Ministry & Hon’ble Minister of Communications & IT, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad himself had announced it in a press conference held on 02.06.2015. TRAI has no objection to it.”
CMD BSNL also mentioned about some major initiatives recently taken for the benefit of customers which include FREE Night Calling facility to BSNL Landline customers from 9 PM to 7 AM to any number of any operator across the country and the scheme is getting overwhelming response . He further added that we are commited to provide best quality services to our customers at affordable and competitive price. .

To improve the Internet Connectivity in North East region of India, an agreement between Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) and Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd (BSCCL) is signed by Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL and Mr Md Monwar Hossain, MD BSCCL on 6th June 2015 for the provision of International Bandwidth for Internet from Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh to Agartala.
North East region of India currently remains unstable mainly due to large scale road widening, which has resulted in poor quality of internet services in the region. On the initiative of Government of India, BSNL explores the possibility of leasing bandwidth from BSCCL for providing connectivity to NE region through the territory of Bangladesh which will improve the internet/ telecom services in the region.
BSCCL will provide the International Port (IP) transit service from Cox's bazar Cable Landing Station. The terrestrial route in Bangladesh will be Cox's bazar-Chittagong-Comilla-B.Baria-Akhaura for primary link and Cox's Bazar-Chitagong-Comilla-Dhaka-Narshindi-Bhairab-Akhaura will be the secondary link. Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd (BTCL) has to lay Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) of the approx 30 KM distance from Brahmanbaria to Akhaura.
BSNL will set-up International Long Distance (ILD) Gateway at Agartala along with associated equipments. Initial requirement of BSNL will be 10GBPS IP transit / IP port at Akhaura ICP as estimated. This endeavor of BSNL will smoothen the internet connectivity for the people of North East region of India.

BSNL mobile customers now have a big reason to smile. The public sector Telecom Major, BSNL has decided to offer FREE incoming calls to its mobile customers from 15th June, 2015 for a period of one year to begin with, while on roaming across the country. The announcement comes ahead of the scheme call full Mobile Number Portability (MNP) which is in the offing. Announcing this today in a press conference Minister of Communications & IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad said "As always, BSNL has taken lead to announce yet another landmark decision in the larger interest of public which will benefit crores of its existing as well as new subscribers. Now BSNL mobile customers will not need to carry multiple SIMs and handsets during roaming. They are now free to talk as long as they want without worrying of any charges during incoming calls. In fact it is like a dream of ‘ONE NATION ONE NUMBER” come true. This will specially benefit the people having transferable jobs and student community who have to change their mobile numbers very frequently owing to transfer liability.”
Speaking on the occasion CMD BSNL, Anupam Shrivastava said “In the past also we were the first movers in many customer beneficial initiatives. In 2002 when we entered in mobile segment we started free incoming calls for the first time within License Service Area(State). Prior to that, the customers had to pay for incoming calls also at the rate as high as Rs.16/- per minute. Today the tariff in the telecom industry in India is the lowest in the world, its credit also goes to BSNL because before entry of BSNL in mobile telephony, the call rates charged by private operators were as high as Rs.24/- per minute. Recently we had announced FREE night calling facility to our landline customers to call any mobile and landline number of any network in India. BSNL was the first to offer such a facility. Although there could be slight reduction in revenue on account of free incoming calls during roaming but we expect to gain first mover advantage and anticipate offsetting this amount by arresting churn out/porting out and by acquiring new customers”.
As a public sector Telecom Operator our aim is not only to earn revenue alone but to provide best quality services to the masses in far flung & remotest areas at competitive prices. We always take such initiatives as a goodwill gesture. This will become an USP of BSNL and will certainly boost our market share in GSM mobile services, he added.

In Feb 2015, BSNL had stopped unused 2G / 3G Mobile Data to carry forward for next recharge of prepaid mobile customers due to some technical limitations. Now after clearing all the aspects, BSNL announced that unused balance mobile data will add on next recharge of BSNL 3G prepaid data STV. As per the current trend, 3G mobile data users are increasing day by day. For this, BSNL is introducing new 3G data plans as per the user requirements at lowest tariff rates. For this a clear example is, BSNL recently introduced Rs.68 Data Special Tariff Voucher which allows 1GB BSNL 3G Mobile Data for 10 days, never given by any other operator at this cheapest rates in the present market.
Now again this newly announced decision by BSNL will give more relief to millions of BSNL Prepaid Mobile Data Plan customers in India to get back the un-utilized data to their hands again without any tension to utilize the balance data again on next data recharge, where the data carry forward / adding of balance data facility will works in the form as follows.
If a customer X activates data STV 155 for his prepaid mobile number, which allows 1GB data for 26 days validity. If that customer used only 700MB data and activates same Rs.155 data STV pack with in validity time of old STV, then the balance of 300MB in previous pack will be automatically added to this new recharge and gets the new balance data as 1GB+300MB(unused data) for the next validity of 26 days of new data STV recharge.
This new facility of accumulation of unutilized balance data usage in BSNL Prepaid plans will also be applicable for all the customers of normal data STVs and longer validity BSNL 3G Data Plan Vouchers. As per the latest announcement of BSNL, this new facility (unused Mobile Data adds on next Recharge) will be applicable for all the GSM 2G / 3G prepaid mobile customers of all BSNL circles across India.

Telecom major, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has announced reduction in roaming tariff by 75% with effect from 01.05.2015 for its prepaid & post paid mobile services. The decision has come in the wake of telecommunication tariff order issued by TRAI.
Shri N.K.Gupta, Director (CM), BSNL Board told “We have reduced our tariff by 40% for incoming calls, 23% for STD calls & 20% for local calls, during roaming. The SMS tariff has been reduced by 75% both for local and national SMS. Now local SMS will cost only 25 Paisa per SMS and national SMS will be charged @ 38 paisa. For post-paid customers local & national both SMS will be charged @ 25 paisa during roaming. He further said that our tariff is most competitive & transparent in the industry”.
“He added that we have already announced FREE unlimited calling from BSNL Land line to any landline or mobile of any operator across India during 9PM to 7AM with effect from 01.05.2015. We have the largest market share of landline connections in the country and therefore crores of BSNL customers would be benefited with this offer”.”

The public sector telecom company BSNL has established a robust Cloud platform to cater to the ever growing demand of Cloud services to play important role in Digital India Project of Government of India.
Recently important Government services like MyGov.in, UAN - Universal Access Number, ECR – Electronic Chalan receipt of EPFO, NVSP-National voter’s services portal of Election commission of India, National Health portal of NRHM and many other services are running on Cloud platform of BSNL at Ahmedabad. This platform facilitates faster implementations of schemes under Digital India initiative of the Government of India.
In addition to the Cloud services, BSNL is also focusing in creating large number of Internet Data Centres across the country and seven such data centers at Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Ludhiana, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai and Chennai are already operational.

Tankbund Road, Telangana secretariat (outside), Necklace Road, Lumbini Park, NTR Park, Sanjeevaiha Park, Eatstreet & Jalvihar areas around Hussain Sagar Lake of Hyderabad becomes Wi-Fi hotspot zone from 16th April 2015.
Hon’ble MOC&IT Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad remotely inaugurated the Wi-Fi services at these locations. Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad made an inaugural call to Shri K.T. Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Panchayat Raj & IT of Telangana. Special Secretary DoT, Members of Telecom commission, CMD BSNL, Dir (CFA) BSNL, and other senior officers of DOT & BSNL were also present to grace the occasion. The Wi-Fi facility has been commissioned by BSNL for providing wireless high speed internet to the users.
Hyderabad is the first city in south zone to have BSNL Wi-Fi zone. At Tankbund Road, Telangana secretariat (outside), Necklace Road, Lumbini Park, NTR Park, Sanjeevaiha Park, Eatstreet & Jalvihar areas around Hussain Sagar Lake more than 30 Access Points (APs) have been installed through 3 POPs with a backhaul bandwidth of 100 Mbps. Each AP shall cover the areas around itself within at least 100 mts.
The facility has been created with the optical fiber backbone which can provide upto 100 Mbps backbone bandwidth. Backhaul bandwidth shall be augmented as per requirement so that users are able to get high speed internet connectivity on their laptops and/or smart phones. BSNL would be providing free Wi-Fi services, for first 30 minutes in a day for maximum 3 occasions in a month for the same mobile number. For activation of the Wi-Fi service on their Smartphone / laptop the user upon receipt of the welcome message “Welcome to BSNL Wi-Fi Zone” details like name, mail ID and Mobile no. have to be filled up. SMS will be sent with User Id and password to the Mobile no BSNL. Thereafter the customers can access the free Wi-Fi services (in a day for maximum 3 occasions in a month for the same mobile number) with the concerned user Id and password.
After free usage a customer can use the service the on paid basis, for which prepaid Plans are available for the denomination of Rs 30/-, Rs 50/-, Rs 90/- and Rs 150/- for validity of 30 min, 60 min , 120 min and one day respectively. The user may purchase the plan through the online Account Login and make the payment by Credit Card or Net banking Purchase.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the leading Telecom Service Provider in India and also the incumbent government operator, introduced Next Generation Network (NGN) Technology in its fixed line telephony. The technology was launched by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Communication & IT, by making a Video call from Delhi to Bangalore. The call at Bangalore was received by Shri R.K. Mishra, Chief General Manager, Karnataka Telecom Circle, Bangalore.
BSNL has more than 36000 telephone exchanges out of which more than 28000 are in rural areas. These exchanges are working on TDM switching technology which provides voice only. Separate gateways are required to inter-connect existing TDM switches with IP Network and mobile switching technology. NGN technology will provide both fixed line and broadband from same telephone exchange.
In addition to video calls, BSNL is also planning to introduce Close User Group of mobile & fixed line customers at All India Basis, multi-media video conferencing involving large number of users at a time, transfer of calls from fixed to mobile and mobile to fixed as per the convenience of the user. This technology also promises introduction of prepaid telephony in fixed line on the same basis as is available in the mobile services.
At present, BSNL plan to convert 14 million telephone lines with NGN technology. This is expected to cover more than 80% urban customers and approx. 90% rural customers. However, it is expected that entire fixed line customers will have NGN facility by December, 2017. Initially, BSNL plans to invest approx. Rs. 1000 crore in upgrading the TDM technology with NGN technology.
The voice call on this new technology will be made available at the same rate at which the fixed telephone is made available by BSNL as on date. However, BSNL would like to charge something extra for video calls.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Communications & IT while congratulating BSNL on introduction of new technology in India also stated that this technology will help India to achieve Digital India & Make in India project of Hon’ble Prime Minister, as BSNL has planned to upgrade C-DoT telephone exchanges with NGN technology, which is also developed by C-DoT. MOC & IT also expressed his faith that NGN may also help expansion of Jan Dhan Yojana, which has already seen a great success from the day it has been launched by Hon’b le Prime Minister of India.
BSNL has validated NGN technology developed by C-DoT locally in India for last 3 years and successfully implemented C-DoT NGN technology since 2012. Based on the success story, BSNL has ordered 10 million NGN ports to C-DoT out of 14 million planned in initial stage. This will help in resolving the problems locally and also to implement various value added services on C-DoT NGN technology as and when required. C-DoT NGN equipment is being manufactured at Hyderabad at present. Local manufacturing of NGN technology will take forward “Make In India” project of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

Shri Anupam Shrivastava has taken over the charge of Chairman and Managing Director of BSNL on 15th Jan, 2015 at BSNL corporate office New Delhi. Shrivastava has been appointed CMD of BSNL for period of five years or till the time of superannuation age of 60 years.
Shri Shrivastava is 1981 batch ITS officer and has done his B.E. (Electronics & Telecom) and MBA (Marketing) from Jabalpur. Prior to this posting he has served as Director (Consumer Mobility) BSNL .Shri Shrivastava has also worked as Sr. General Manager at Jodhpur, Ajmer and Jaipur in Rajasthan Telecom Circle. He also has experience of working as GM (EB) in Rajasthan Telecom Circle with additional charge of Marketing and Enterprise Business.
“Government is focusing on connection unconnected people with telecom services including high speed broadband. As BSNL CMD it will be my top propriety area to work with government in connecting people at affordable cost, expeditiously and at turning around BSNL into a profitable venture. I will take up important pending project of NOFN, mobile service in Naxal-hit areas.” Said Shri Shrivastava afer assuming charge of CMD BSNL.

BSNL has increased its focus on Mobile Governance and come up with a new policy for realizing the revenue potential of upcoming Mobile Governance projects launched by government at central and state level. The revenue opportunity in this field has increased multi fold in view of government project of “Digital India” which aims to leverage ICT and Mobile technology capabilities to deliver governance to common citizens across the length and breadth of the country.
Shri Anupam Shrivastava, Director(Consumer Mobility), BSNL Board said ” Mobile Technology which till now was being seen just as enabler have become central for delivering Governance and utility services to common citizens. The good news is that with the announcement of proactive government policies, the whole ecosystem has started moving up in right direction. New powerful and cheaper mobile devices with wide support for regional languages are coming which will help in delivering services in local language.
M-governance complements e-Government in delivering services and public information to citizens due to its nature of being available anywhere- anytime.

BSNL has been offering Unlimited Broadband Plans to Customers who wish to avail higher speed where the speed opted by the Broadband customer automatically gets reduced after the higher speed data transfer quota is reached as per the plans during the month.
Based on the customers demand, CMD BSNL Shri A.N.Rai inaugurated a facility to restore the original speed of such unlimited broadband customers on payment of nominal charges which will be added in the next broadband bill. The charges are Rs. 100/200/300/500 for additional 2GB/5GB/10GB/20GB data transfer quota at the higher speed for the rest of the month.
For availing the facility, pop-ups to broadband customers will be flashed as soon as they cross the higher speed data transfer quota. Customer can opt to restore the speed through this pop-up and for this they shall be charged in next bill accordingly.

The devastation caused by unprecedented rain, floods and landslides in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly Kashmir valley has resulted in massive damage to telecom infrastructure of BSNL and other operators, resulting in total breakdown of mobile, landline and internet services. Taking stock of the situation, CMD, BSNL has said that all out efforts are being made on war footing for restoration of BSNL telecom network. Mobile communication network in most parts of Anantnag, Pulwama and Budgam districts in Srinagar SSA, Poonch and Rajouri in Rajouri SSA and in Jammu SSA have been severely affected. He mentioned that power supply has been disrupted, national highway blocked and Exchanges / BTS / power plants submerged in water, resulting in delay in restoration of telecom services. He said that no efforts are being spared for restoration of BSNL telecom network by bringing satellite based services (DSPT) by diverting resources from other telecom circles of BSNL. 10 VSATs have been airlifted to Srinagar from Bangalore yesterday night. CMD, BSNL further mentioned that in Poonch district, efforts are underway to restore telecom services with the help of V SAT. He added that Barjula BTS & Exchange have been restored on OFC and BSNL is trying to restore one BSC at Srinagar which will result in restoration of nearly 20 BTSs. BSNL’s task force team is working day and night in cooperation with the Army and the State Government to restore telecom services, particularly in Kashmir valley. Whereas, telecom services in other regions of J&K state have become normal.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), one of India's leading Telecommunications companies, launched Centralized VAS (Value Added Services) Provisioning System cum Consent Gateway (CVPS cum CG) for its subscribers in the country.
Now this CVPS cum CG will centrally control all activities like activation, obtaining 2nd consent from customers, providing response to customer query, update VAS profile of customers, trigger delivery of requested VAS and charging. Earlier all these activities were being done by VAS providers themselves.
Mr. Anupam Shrivastava, Director (CM) BSNL Board, stated that CVPS cum CG will enable BSNL to serve its customer better. This will instill more confidence into consumers as now VAS subscription will be activated only after obtaining double confirmation from customer that too by independent third party. This system will be a milestone to attain the customers’ satisfaction as subscriber will be informed for the every single penny which is charged against the provisioning of VAS.

A tripartite MoU was signed among ONGC, BSNL & MTNL on 28-07-2014 at ONGC Corporate Office for providing all telecom services such as basic telephones, mobile services, leased circuits including VSAT services to ONGC on pan India basis, including service areas of MTNL at Delhi and Mumbai. The MoU was signed by Sh. Shashi Shankar, Director (T&FS) ONGC, Sh. A. N. Rai, CMD BSNL and Sh. A. K. Purwar, CMD MTNL for a period of five years up to March 2019. M/s. ONGC has entered into agreement with BSNL/MTNL as they are providing complete telecom solution based on latest available technology all across country including remotest corners from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The signing of this MoU among these major PSUs will further strengthen and synergize their relationship. The event was also attended by many senior officers of these organizations.

Shri A.N.Rai Director (Enterprise) BSNL has assumed the additional charge of post of CMD, BSNL with effect from 01-07-2014 (F/N) and until further orders. Shri Rai, an officer of ITS 1975 Batch holds B-Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from BHU, Varanasi. Shri Rai was actively associated with the installation, commissioning and maintenance of switching the equipments at various places in the country. He was also trained in Digital Telecom System in various countries like U.K., Germany and USA. As DDG at Corporate Office, he handled rural networking and CMTS areas. Prior to joining as Director, he was the CGM, Orissa Circle of BSNL which bagged the prestigious “Telecom Circle of the year 2010-11 Award.”

2014: Japan Govt. organization NEDO (New Energy & Industrial Technology Development Organization), under Ministry of Economy Trade &Industry Japan, has initiated discussions with BSNL to reduce the carbon print created by pollution from Diesel generating sets used at the telecom towers.
Mr. Miyamoto, Chief of NEDO in India had a meeting today at Bharat Sanchar Bhawan New Delhi with Mr. Anupam Shrivastava, Director Consumer Mobility BSNL and explained the support of Japan to India. This falls in line with the directives of the PM to reduce the dependence on energy by substituting the same with SOLAR power - an alternative and renewable energy.  There has been a sea change in the SOLAR technology which has improved the efficiency.
NTT Japan consumes one percent of the power generation in Japan in its telecom network, which is equal to the power produced by one nuclear plant.

New Delhi, June 03, 2014 : 


Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has signed an agreement with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) on 3rd June 2014, to improve the telecommunications connectivity to the States of North East Region including Sikkim. The agreement was signed at Bharat Sanchar Bhawan, Janpath, New Delhi, in the presence of Sh. A. N. Rai, Director, BSNL Board and Sh. Ashwani Jain, COO (Telecom), PGCIL. The agreement envisages provisioning of bandwidth on optical fibre media laid over the high tension electric transmission network of PGCIL. Total 34 links comprising of multiple 10 Gbps capacity telecom circuits will be commissioned. This will provide redundancy to existing network of BSNL which comprises of Optical Fibre media laid underground along National / State Highways. The agreement will be effective for a period of 10 years.
Total bandwidth capacity to be provided as part of the said agreement will be 810 Gbps, covering 20 important locations in NE Region including Sikkim. To provide the bandwidth, PGCIL and BSNL will deploy high capacity DWDM telecom equipments in their respective telecom network. These telecom links will become operational in next 12 to 18 months time period. After completion of the proposed connectivity, the reliability of telecom services of North East Region including Sikkim will improve substantively, which  will result in improved Broadband Internet services  and other telecom services being provided by BSNL to the Citizens of North East Region and Government Agencies.

1.    Introduces a simple way for mobile users to access Facebook without any internet or data connectivity.
2.    Service available on all phones for a charge of Rs.4, Rs.10, Rs.20 for 3 Days, weekly and monthly plans and can be accessed by dialing *325#.
Continuing its effort of providing innovative and unique value added services, BSNL has launched a first of its kind service for its subscribers, Facebook on USSD in East and South Zones and shortly going to be launched in West and North Zones..BSNL customers can access this service without any internet or mobile data services. The service is first in the market, brought together with their partners U2opia Mobile.
Facebook for USSD enables users to access their Facebook accounts, view/post status messages, respond to friend requests, write on friends’ walls, view birthday reminders and send messages, all without any internet or data connection.
To use this service, customers can dial *325# from any mobile phone and get started at a charge of Rs.4, Rs.10, Rs.20 for 3 Days, weekly and monthly plans, respectively.

BSNL board Director(CM) Shri Anupam Shhrivastava stated that full usage value equal to MRP on GSM Top-Up vouchers with MRP from Rs.200/- to Rs.999/-  will be given during the scheme period.Besides this, 10% extra usage value on MRP with MRP from Rs.1000/- to Rs.2999/- would be given.The offer will be applicable for 90 days w.e.from 25.03.2014 in all circles.

The state owned Telecom PSU, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited today contributed one day salary of its all employees Rs.148859650/- (Rupees Fourteen Crore Eighty Eight Lakh Fifty Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Only) to Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) as a relief to victims of natural disaster in Uttrakhand.

The Cheque was handed over by Sh. Rajeev Singh G.M. (Fin.) , Sh. Sanjay Sinha Jt.G.M. (PR), Sh.C.S. Gupta DGM (Fin.) to Sh. Shatrughan Singh Addl. Secy. PMO . On this occasion Sh. Shatrughan Singh Addl. Secy. PMO said, “This is the highest contribution by any PSU/individual throughout India.” The Prime Minister has also appreciated this gesture. This contribution will be very helpful in assistance being provided to the victims of cloudburst and flood in Uttrakhand.
